“I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU UNTIL I HAVE DONE WHAT I HAVE PROMISED…”
[ So sorry for keeping everyone guessing where we are going and what we are doing! Read this blog for a fuller understanding… ]
Gen 28:15 > “I am with you! I will protect you wherever you go and will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I promised you!” Jacob had come to a season in life where it was right and good for him to run for the hills. God opened the door. But God’s purpose would not be squelched in his absence. God would see to it that ...
8 years ago today, Regina and Dan Bumstead, along with Nimisha Lala from South Africa, crowded into a fully packed to the gills double cab Nissan pickup, and started our amazing journey to Zambia (I almost said, “into the unknown” – because so many things at that point were unknown! But we had a few Lighthouse Beacons that were already clearly plotted by our Pilot for us. One of these was – ZAMBIA!).
We had very few monthly supporters at this point. We had only Mike Lungu and Nimisha Lala as team members. We had many, many unknowns! But we did have a “miracu...
As I was sitting on the floor worshiping with our Zambian Team 6 years ago I saw a vision. Now, I’m not much for visions. I’m a skeptic – a doubting Thomas – mostly. But this was a real live vision from God that changed my life.
I saw Jesus on the cross with blood dripping from his hands to the ground. There was a line as far as the eye could see - single file and soberly coming to the cross. The people were, one after another, getting a drop of Jesus’ blood as it fell into their hands, and walking solemnly off in the same direction. I was thinking ...
Dear friends, Regina and I have been in Africa for nearly 11 years! It’s hard to imagine.
And in Zambia for 8 plus years!
Last week our Board made the amazing declaration that we should take a year sabbatical! We are sort of beat up - body, soul and spirit. As soon as the meeting concluded the reality of the decision hit us both – this is another one of those portals we have gone thru in our lives, where we walk into a new dimension of serving - the same Lord, with the same heart, but in a different realm.
Don’t be alarmed – we will still be in Zambia, ...
I just experienced another “MOST IN MY LIFE” – and at 64 that is getting more and more difficult. This was “Most wild bus ride in my life”.
How can I describe that wild bus ride! It was a four-hour ride over the Tanzanian mountain to “civilization”. Half way there was where the robbers would occasionally swoop down and force each person to strip down and hand over all valuables – and the word was that they were planning an attack today… (if you want to read the entire hair raising story, click this link…)
But the bus ride was just the icing on ...
The call was clear – incontrovertible after so many fleeces and miraculous confirmations – “Go! Sell all and trust me. I have given you a land flowing with milk and honey…” So Abraham went. As have so many others thru the ages – including Dan and Regina, when they heard the same urgent Command.
There were so many Promises and Visions of how things would be, what we would do, what God would do. We came with enthusiasm, trusting God for so many miracles – and it happened! God showed up and we were miraculously led and provisioned and empowered.
At church this week I was sitting behind three girls from our House of Moses home and a friend of theirs from the village. Typical girls – giggling during the sermon, fidgeting during the sharing time, not praying out-loud during the intercession time, not offering anything to the small circle without severe prodding during the final “what did you get from the sermon” time… But in all, I was impressed with them. They are great girls – Sharon, Loveness, Melody, and their friend, [??} .
But the moment when they showed their true colors is when they went up ...
“Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” Rom 12:2 The Msg.
Time is not a high priced commodity here, so the fact that the three ladies arrived 40 min late to our arranged bible study was not a bombshell. We ...
WE THANK YOU GOD FOR ALL THESE THINGS…
Psalm 108:3f > “I will give thanks to you, O LORD, among the peoples;
I will sing praises to you among the nations.
For your steadfast love is great above the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.”
For the visible spiritual, social and character growth in the children God has given to us at the House of Moses and House of Noah. The dream we had years ago is actually happening before our eyes like never before. They are becoming models to their peers and leaders in every way. Educationally ...
It was an unusually dark night with only a few rouge stars penetrating the cloud cover, as we made our way quietly to Stanley’s hut on the outskirts of Singanga Village. Tammy was leading the charge to take our worship night to the village (often we enjoy this special night with just our House of Moses kids and our staff, dancing on our moon-lit island). This week, after prayerful listening, she decided on Stanley’s house.
It was so dark outside his hut – only a small cooking fire behind the circle of worshipers illuminating the lighter skinned faces. We started ...
